JCAHO sets 2007 safety goals for long-term care
LTC Liability Monitor, June 22, 2006
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) announced June 12 its 2007 resident safety goals for long-term care organizations. A major change in the goals for next year is the requirement that nursing homes define and communicate the means for residents and their families to report concerns about safety. Also new in the 2007 goals is the requirement that nursing homes provide a complete list of medications to residents on discharge from the facility.
You can find the complete list of resident safety goals on the JCAHO's Web site at http://www.jcaho.org.
