Arizona facility owner faces more sanctions
LTC Liability Monitor, June 15, 2006
The Tuscon-based owner of an assisted living facility will face continued disciplinary action, according to the Arizona Daily Star. State health officials investigating Casita de Hope found that Esperanza Sanchez and her staff "seriously neglected" an 87-year-old resident who later died at a hospital following complications from pressure ulcers and dehydration.
Sanchez was fined $1,500 and held from accepting new admissions for a 90-day period. Her new sanctions include an additional $500 fine and a nine-month probationary license, the Daily Star reported.
