ASHA hosts hearing screenings for Congress
Rehab Private Practice Alert, May 24, 2006
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) hosted free hearing tests for members of Congress and their staff on May 18 in recognition of May being Better Hearing and Speech Month.
ASHA helped perform the screening in the U.S. Capitol to raise awareness about hearing issues. Along with the screenings, ASHA held an issues forum to discuss topics such as newborn infant hearing screenings through the reauthorization of the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Act and making hearing aids more accessible with the Hearing Aid Tax Credit Act.
