CMS admonishes nursing homes on Part D steering
LTC Liability Monitor, May 25, 2006
CMS this month released three new survey and certification letters, one of which reiterated resident rights with regard to Medicare Part D. The letter discusses nursing homes' responsibility to provide drugs to residents, and also cautions them against steering residents toward particular prescription drug plans (PDP), especially PDPs affiliated with pharmacies favored by the nursing home.
