Difficulty, but no casualties for seniors in MA flooding
LTC Liability Monitor, May 18, 2006
Nursing home residents in Lawrence, MA, facility were rescued from rain-induced floods this week, moved out in laundry bins down makeshift platforms, according to the Boston Herald. Rescue workers relied on manpower to move residents down as many as four flights of stairs, placing them into large laundry bins and covering them in blankets to move them through, in some places, several feet of water.
There have thus far been no reports of resident casualties at any Massachusetts nursing homes, the Herald reported.
