CCHIT approves ambulatory EHR certification criteria
EHR Connection, May 9, 2006
The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) gave final approval of the criteria for certifying ambulatory EHR products and the inspection process for certification.
The commission will release the final criteria, certification handbook, and a sample CCHIT contract. On May 2, CCHIT will host an 11 a.m. (EDT) teleconference for EHR vendors to explain the certification and application processes.
Vendors can submit applications for certification between May 3 and May 12. CCHIT will announce the first round of certified products in late June or early July.
