HHS releases letter addressing compliance issues
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, May 2, 2006
The Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) has issued a three-page letter to healthcare providers that outlines Inspector General Daniel R. Levinson's "perspective on compliance, the resolution of healthcare fraud cases, corporate integrity agreements (CIAs), and the [Office of Inspector General's] (OIG's) Provider Self-Disclosure Protocol," according to the letter, which is posted on the Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association (FASA) Web site.
