Allscripts to acquire EMR firm
E-Health Trend Watch, April 28, 2006
Allscripts of Chicago announced a $272 million deal to acquire privately held A4 Health Systems of North Carolina. Allscripts is an electronic medical records (EMR) systems vendor, and A4 is the maker of EMR and practice management systems software. According to Allscripts, the acquisition will the company them to offer EMR systems integrated with practice management systems across a range of sizes of office-based physician practices.
