Missouri creates health IT task force
E-Health Trend Watch, April 28, 2006
Missouri Governor Matt Blunt created a healthcare technology task to address how the state can encourage the use of electronic medical records to allow medical providers to share information. The creation of the task force is the first step toward spending the $25 billion that Blunt has proposed for a new healthcare technology fund. Blunt hopes the task force will make progress toward reducing costs and improving outcomes for Missouri patients. Part of the goal is to develop a computer system platform to allow any treating physicians to access patient histories.
