HHS announces appointment of four new directors
E-Health Trend Watch, April 28, 2006
Department of Health and Human Services National Coordinator David Brailer announced the appointment of the following four permanent directors during a meeting of the American Health Information Community:
* Karen Bell was named director of the Office of Health IT Adoption. She previously worked for Boston's Partners Healthcare.
* Kelly Cronin was named director of the Office of Programs and Coordination. Cronin previously directed patient-safety initiatives at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
* Attorney Jodi Daniel was appointed the new director of the Office of Policy and Research. Daniel worked in the development of e-prescribing standards for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
* John Loonsk was named director of the Office of Interoperability and Standards. He was the director of informatics for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
