Hospital worker fends off sexual assault
Healthcare Security Weekly, April 17, 2006
A man attempted to sexually assault a female hospital worker at Scottsdale (AZ) Healthcare Shea Hospital when she went outside for a cigarette break, the East Valley/Scottsdale Tribune reports.
An unknown assailan attacked the worker from behind around 3:30 a.m. He ripped her clothes before she was able to flee to the emergency room. The woman was treated and released later that day.
A statement issued by the hospital stated that security would be increased, but the hospital encouraged people coming and going to call for security escorts. Police and security officers will review surveillance tapes to see if the man can be identified.
