Healthcare Security Weekly, April 17, 2006

Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, CT, locked down from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. earlier this month as police searched the entire hospital for a gunman, the Norwich Bulletin reports.

New London Police Captain William Dittman said an emergency room nurse saw a man with a gun at about 3 p.m. Dittman said they never found a gun, but they will check surveillance tapes.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s with salt and pepper hair, wearing tan pants, and having a long gun.
