Blue Cross and Blue Shield dispenses pocket PCs to physicians
E-Health Trend Watch, April 21, 2006
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is providing free pocket computers to 1,000 physicians to encourage them to write more electronic prescriptions. The insurer states that each physician using the handheld device will save the organization approximately $3,000 per year by linking to a system that eliminates expensive prescription options.
