The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC) have each announced elections of new positions within the associations, according to separate press releases.
The Accreditation Association elections, conducted during the associations meeting in Chicago on April 9, saw the electing of a new president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and six new directors to its Board of Directors.
Roy C. Grekin, MD is the new president and succeeds Francis DiPlacido, DMD, FACD. Grekin is a clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California in San Francisco.
The AAASC's election, conducted during the association's March annual meeting in Dallas, saw three new directors elected and the reelection of two current directors.
The new directors elected to three-year terms were Tim Geary, chairman and chief executive officer of National Surgical Care; Joe Clark, president, ambulatory surgery center (ASC) division of HealthSouth; and John Schario, executive vice president of Nueterra Healthcare.
Reelected were Jeff Braaten, DO, of ENT Specialists of Abilene and Mark Mayo, executive director of the Illinois ASC Association.
