Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center becomes fully integrated digital hospital
E-Health Trend Watch, April 14, 2006
Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center has replaced paper-based physician orders with 100% direct computerized physician order entry (CPOE) to deliver better quality of care, increase patient safety, and improve health outcomes. Bronx Lebanon's physicians and clinicians have access to patient history, test results, and current medications at the time and place they are needed. Physician instructions can also be processed without handwritten charts.
The hospital worked with Emerging Health Information Technology to implement the CPOE project. Bronx Lebanon used and customized Emerging Health's proprietary predesigned order-set templates to give them a leg up on the project. Together, Emerging Health and the hospital have built an enterprisewide information and knowledge management center for Bronx Lebanon.
