Protecting young arms serves PT well
Rehab Private Practice Alert, April 5, 2006
Rehab providers looking to market themselves to a younger crowd should consider following the lead of a California PT.
Bob Thompson, PT, MSPT, of Thompson & Rodrigues Physical Therapy Associates, Inc., in Yuba City, hosts seminars to teach children and their parents about preventing injuries while playing Little League baseball, according to the California Physical Therapy Association.
Thompson urges parents and coaches to guard against overuse injuries and for the players to alert someone at the first hint of pain.
In the seminar, Thompson warns of children altering throwing motions to avoid pain because it can lead to more severe injuries.
