Tennessee RT runs for Fourth District seat in U.S. Congress
Respiratory Care Weekly, April 5, 2006
RTs could have their own representative on Capitol Hill. Don Strong (R-TN), RRT of Cumberland Medical Center, announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives Fourth District last week. The 10-year RT veteran will include several healthcare-related planks in his campaign platform, including a pledge against reductions in benefits for seniors and quality, affordable healthcare for all.
According to his campaign Web site, http://www.donaldstrong.com, he "is convinced that we are not prepared for a possible bird flu pandemic and pledges to address the shortage of ventilators and respiratory therapists."
