Security issuing warnings to cut down on traffic
Healthcare Security Weekly, March 20, 2006
Erie County (NY) Medical Center (ECMC) is targeting people who park their cars for too long in the dropoff area in front of the hospital, according to WGRZ-TV.
Hospital security is tracking cars by computer and issuing warnings to anyone parked there longer than five minutes.
The time period is too short for some transportation services, though, so the hospital has set up special areas for these dropoffs, where the driver has to go in and help the patient get set up.
ECMC officials say that people parking right in front of the hospital for long periods of time is causing major traffic delays.
