E-Health Trend Watch, March 24, 2006
The Health Resources and Services Administration, a branch of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), has created a new department dedicated to expanding health information technology (IT) efforts to its base of community health and HIV/AIDS centers. The Office of Health Information Technology will encompass a Division of Health IT Policy, an Office for the Advancement of Telehealth, and a Division of Health IT State and Community Assistance. It will work with broader health IT initiatives set out by HHS and specific ones developed by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology
