Medicare fixes problem on Web site

E-Health Trend Watch, February 10, 2006

Medicare fixed a problem that listed incorrect prices for two drug plans on its Web site used by beneficiaries to choose among competing private plans. The plans affected by the problem were UniCare and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. The site incorrectly listed monthly copayments for their drugs, making the plans seem more expensive than they actually are. Other problems discovered since the site launch in mid-November have also been resolved, according to a Medicare spokesperson.
