Program provides wireless access to drug data, lists, and e-prescribing
E-Health Trend Watch, January 27, 2006
Informed Decisions, LLC, and Mississippi Medicaid have started rolling out the eMPOWERx wireless patient care program to state Medicaid providers. The tool allows providers point-of-care access to drug information, interaction screening tools, medical histories, drug lists, clinical decision support tools, and e-prescribing capabilities. The program was developed using funds from a grant from the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians Foundation in conjunction with Pfizer. Initial funding will allow 225 Medicaid physicians to receive the devices and will support the eMPOWERx program for one year.
