Hospital will require photo ID badges for visitors
Healthcare Security Weekly, March 13, 2006
Syracuse University Hospital now has visitors check-in and receive a photo ID badge, reports news10now.com.
Visitors must tell the hospital staff member at the desk their names and who they are visiting. The staff member then checks the hospital's computer for the patient's name and location.
The hospital says it takes between 30 and 60 seconds for visitors to walk up to the front desk and get the badge.
After verifying the patient can have visitors, the staff member prints up the badge, which is good for the rest of the day.
