Police capture infant abductor quickly
Healthcare Security Weekly, March 6, 2006
Chicago police arrested a woman who kidnapped a baby from Stroger Hospital less than 30 minutes after the abduction, reports the Chicago Tribune.
The woman was able to take the baby when the father handed her the infant believing she was a friend of the child's mother.
The woman then ran from the hospital before anyone could stop her.
She took the baby to nearby Rush University Medical Center, where security stopped her because she looked lost, according to the Tribune. She ran from security but after running into a physician, police arrested her and found the baby unharmed.
