Two shot at Detroit hospital
Healthcare Security Weekly, February 13, 2006
Two men were shot last week outside St. John Hospital in Detroit, reports Detroit.com.
A group of friends began walking into the hospital emergency room when one pulled out a gun before reaching the metal detectors. The shooter hit his brother-in-law in the fire and hospital security guards shot back and hit the shooter.
The shooter and his brother-in-law survived the shooting after receiving treatment at the hospital.
Security defended shooting back, with a representative saying, "If someone comes into the emergency room shooting, yes, we are going to protect our patients and facility."
