AAASC offers Web-based payment calculator
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, February 21, 2006
In anticipation of the transition of Medicare payments from the current ASC payments system to one based on Hospital Outpatient Department (HOPD) payments, the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC) has developed a Web-based payment calculator.
The calculator, which is free for AAASC members, allows ASCs to calculate their Medicare ASC payment for a specific location and compares ASC and HOPD payments.
"Not only does this result in even more value for AAASC membership dues, but it addresses the needs of progressive, physician led ASCs that need these easy to utilize Web-based tools," said AAASC Executive Director Craig Jeffries in a press release.
