CMS to pay $50 more for some NTIOLs

Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, February 7, 2006

CMS has announced that it will reimburse an additional $50 under Medicare for intraocular lenses by Advanced Medical Optics on the basis that they are new technology intraocular lenses (NTIOLs), according to the Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association .

The increase in reimbursement will begin February 27 and continue for five years.
