Police search for woman stealing credits dressed as nurse
Healthcare Security Weekly, February 6, 2006
Police in Mesa, AZ, are on the lookout for a woman going around dressed as a nurse, who is stealing credit cards from local elementary schools and one hospital, according to the East Valley Tribune.
The string of thefts has been going on since August, but investigators caught a break when they captured the woman using a stolen credit card on surveillance tapes at Target.
While police still do not know who the woman is, they told the Tribune that the common thread among the thefts is that she takes cash and credit cards from purses left unattended.
The suspect used credit cards she took from employees at Mesa General Hospital to make hundreds of dollars worth of fraudulent purchases at local stores.
