MN hospital reviews policy after rape
Healthcare Security Weekly, February 6, 2006
Officials at the University Medical Center-Fairview Riverside are reviewing security policies after an alleged rape at the hospital, according to the Minnesota Daily.
A woman staying at the hospital in a non-patient room says the father of her child raped her twice within a 14-hour period.
Fairview officials say the hospital already has security around the clock and takes additional measures at night, but in light of this incident is trying to figure out ways to increase security's presence.
The hospital refused to discuss what measures it currently takes, but told the Daily that it is taking the matter seriously and will do anything it can to make the hospital safer for its patients.
