Hospital investigating mother's rape accusations
Healthcare Security Weekly, January 30, 2006
The University of Minnesota Medical Center Fairview-Riverside campus is investigating a possible rape that took place in a non-patient room, reports KARE11-TV.com
The women was staying in a room at the hospital a month after giving birth as the hospital treated her infant in the neo-natal intensive care unit.
The woman says the father of her child came to visit at 2 a.m. on January 19 and raped her.
The man, Abdulhai Mohamed, first said he didn't have sex with her, but after the hospital presented him with evidence, he now says it was consensual.
The hospital says it is fully cooperating with police as they investigate claims that Mohamed raped her on prior occasions as well.
