JCAHO seeking comments on proposed staff influenza immunization standards
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, January 24, 2006
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) has extended its field review period for proposed revisions to its staff influenza immunization standards. The last day to complete the online review is now February 12.
"Through this field review, the Joint Commission is interested in learning your thoughts about whether influenza vaccination should be made mandatory among caregivers in various healthcare settings, what categories of individuals should be vaccinated, whether the option to decline vaccination for legitimate or other reasons should be provided, and whether and how organizations can track declination rates," stated the JCAHO Web site.
