Congress: CMS responsibile to address specialty hospital concerns
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, December 28, 2005
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is responsibile for "developing a strategy for addressing a host of issues, including physician investment and payment," for specialty hospitals, according to the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC).
The congressional assignment came after "negotiators rejected any change in the opportunity for physician ownership and a long-term moratorium on specialty hospital development," the AAASC said.
