NY hospital helps capture murder suspect
Healthcare Security Weekly, October 31, 2005
A member of the Cabrini Medical Center security department in Manhattan, NY, helped police capture a Jersey City man accused of killing his sister and her two children, reports the New Jersey Star Ledger.
Jersey City police received a tip from the security officer that Dwayne Wilson, who had eluded police for five weeks, was in the hospital. The officer helped keep Wilson in the hospital until police arrived without interrupting normal hospital operations.
The hospital and police did not comment on why Wilson was at the hospital, but police praised the hospital for the way it handled notifying authorities of his presence and keeping him in custody until police arrived.
