Colorado CNA pleads guilty to nursing home rape
LTC Liability Monitor, October 27, 2005
A certified nursing assistant (CNA) at a Greeley, CO, nursing home plead guilty to one count of sexual assault, the ABC-affiliated DenverChannel.com reported. The CNA could face up to life in prison after admitting he raped a dementia-afflicted resident at the Windsor Health Care Center.
He turned himself in to police with the encouragement of his pastor, DenverChannel.com reported, citing incidents that occurred in December 2004 and July 2005. The CNA's ex-wife reportedly tried to warn police and Windsor Health's administrators ahead of time, telling attorneys of his allegedly violent behavior during their divorce years earlier.
