CMS prescription drug tools available

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provided a new resource for physicians to learn about the new prescription drug coverage and possibly receive 1.5 hours of continuing medical education (CME) credit.
The resource is a slideshow that provides details on the program. Also available on the CMS Web site are toolkits for providers who want to help educate beneficiaries about the benefit, brochures for practice staff, and articles.
While the slideshow itself does not offer CME credit, CMS noted that organizations may accredit it and use the pre- and post-assessment tools in their programs. The prescription drug benefit is set to begin on January 1. Enrollment begins on November 15.
