USC receives grant to support CRN
Rehab Private Practice Alert, October 12, 2005
The University of Southern California (USC) recently received a grant of $250,000 from the Foundation for Physical Therapy to its Department of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, reports PT Bulletin Online.
The grant is the final installment toward the Foundation's $1.5 million grant to establish the Clinical Research Network (CRN).
Co-principal investigators James Gordon, PT, EdD, FAPTA, associate professor and chair, and Carolee Winstein, PT, PhD, FAPTA, professor, are exploring the effect of strength training on patients with disabilities.
The CRN projects will officially conclude this year. However, Gordon and Winstein note, "The real impact of this grant will go far beyond the results of the actual projects."
