No change in Medicare payment for ASCs
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, October 11, 2005
Medicare payment rates and wage index values for services provided in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) will remain unchanged for the 2006 fiscal year.
According to a CMS transmittal announcing the news, "Until CMS has had an opportunity to determine the impact of changes in the fiscal year 2006 inpatient hospital wage index on payment amounts for individual ASCs, implementation of new wage index values for fiscal year 2006 is deferred."
