Security position cut from TX hospital
Healthcare Security Weekly, October 3, 2005
Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs, TX, cut the day shift security position from its budget because of fiscal year concerns, according to the Sulphur Springs News-Telegram.
Michael McAndrew, CEO of the hospital, told the News-Telegram that the hospital board cut the position because it felt security was a service the hospital could do without. The hospital reassigned affected officers to other positions as much as possible.
The restructuring of the budget wiped out eight jobs in total in the hospital, though most of these employees were given the chance to remain at the facility in some capacity.
