Investigators search for answers in murder of nurse
Healthcare Security Weekly, September 19, 2005
Authorities in Corpus Christi, TX, now believe that someone abducted the Christus Spohn Hospital nurse found murdered last week, reports the Garza Caller-Times.
Investigators are reviewing hospital security tapes, but so far all they've found is Debra Slough leaving the hospital at 3:30 p.m. Her van is still missing and police say they have no leads into who shot her or how she ended up dead 70 miles from the hospital.
Since the murder, the hospital has increased security by adding four security officers to its staff of 19 and frequently escorting employees and patients from the building to their cars.
Security officers are also trying to become more visible around the campus to ease the fears of employees.
