Certified nurses wanted for Katrina relief
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, September 20, 2005
The American Nurses Association and the American Nurses Credentialing Center are recruiting 100 certified nurses to assist with Hurricane Katrina relief in Louisiana.
The associations are looking for psychiatric, mental health, and gerontology nurses to deploy for two-week periods to a disaster response area.
Applicants must:
- hold a current active RN license
- be certified by ANCC in psychiatric/mental health or gerontological nursing
- have professional liability insurance
Those selected will have travel, housing, and meal expenses covered. Participants will also receive a $200 per day honorarium.
There will be four deployment cycles starting on September 18 with the last two-week deployment cycle starting on November 1.
