Are the OSHA Standards and the (ANSI) standards the same? Which take precedence?

OSHA Standards are the law and must be followed. ANSI does not have standards but rather guidelines that also deal with safety. Because OSHA's standards take a long time to change, ANSI's guidelines are often more current. Sometimes OSHA cites ANSI guidelines under their General Duty Clause of 1970 so it would be wise to keep abreast of both.
