JCAHO to include organ donation rates in Quality Reports
Quality Improvement Monitor, September 1, 2005
The JCAHO's Quality Reports in July began reflecting high organ donation rates of hospitals, the commission's August JCAHOnline reported.
During the past year, 184 hospitals qualified to receive the Medal of Honor from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Health Resources and Services Administration, according to the JCAHO. The medals recognized a 75% conversion rate for organ donations.
The JCAHO will include the recognition in the Special Quality Awards section of the Quality Reports, the commission said. The public can search for the reports at the Quality Check Web site.
