ABPT extends specialist examination deadline

In case you missed the July 31 deadline to apply for next year's specialist certification examinations, you now have until August 31.
The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties allows for physical therapists to attain this special professional distinction if they have met the minimum eligibility requirement of performing at least 2,000 hours of direct patient care in one of the following specialty areas:
- cardiovascular and pulmonary care
- clinical electrophysiology
- geriatrics
- neurology
- orthopaedics
- pediatrics
- sports physical therapy
To apply for certification, download the application booklet(s) from APTA's Web site, www.apta.org. Completed applications must be postmarked by August 31 and mailed to: APTA Accounting Department, Specialist Certification Applications, 1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA 22314-1488.
