MI hospital steps up security for rap star

Healthcare Security Weekly, August 29, 2005

Brighton (MI) Hospital officials say they have beefed up securitydramatically since admitting rap star Eminem as a patient, reports the Livingston County Daily Press and Argus. The hospital is worried about "curiosity-seekers" after groups of people gathered outside the hospital after word spread that Eminem entered the hospital to seek treatment for an addiction to a sleep aid. The hospital is not saying exactly what steps they are taking, but the state police and local county sheriff's department both say they are not helping the hospital with extra staffing.
