Healthcare Strategist Trend Watch, August 12, 2005
Declining reimbursement rates and hassles with insurance companies are driving some doctors in Florida and elsewhere across the nation to perform cosmetic procedures such as Botox and laser hair removal in order to supplement their incomes, the Orlando Business Journal reports. Adding cosmetic procedures, doctors say, is an easy decision because they are becoming increasingly popular-and patients pay for them in cash.
