Bomb drill a success at WV hospital
Healthcare Security Weekly, August 8, 2005
St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, WV, took part in a successful bomb drill with several other local agencies, reports the Parkersburg News and Sentinel.
The drill simulated five bombs located throughout the hospital that emergency responders had to track down. Responders tracked down all five bombs in the allotted time, with the first one found within five minutes.
Along with nearly 50 members of the hospital staff, the local police department, fire department, and fire marshal's office all took part in the drill. Organizers planned the drill for months, though participants didn't know what they were facing until the drill started.
Police officers and hospital personnel did much of the searching, while firefighters secured the area. A bomb robot from the fire marshal's office simulated dismantling the bombs.
