Annual national ASC open house day on August 2
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, July 26, 2005
The Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association (FASA) is holding its third annual open house day on August 2.
The open house day, according to FASA, is intended to
- inform consumers about a high-quality, cost effective, patient-friendly choice for surgical care
- educate policymakers about the necessary services ASCs provide
- highlight the role of ASCs in meeting Americans' surgical needs
FASA started the effort to reveal healthcare's "best-kept secret," says Kathy Bryant, executive vice president of the association.
"People seemed to be under false impressions about differences in operating rooms in ASCs and hospitals, and there was confusion about ASC reimbursement," she says. "We wanted to educate the public."
