When it comes to ergonomics, prevention is the name of the game.

Lab Safety Advisor, July 20, 2005

When it comes to preventing ergonomic injuries, a proactive approach is always best. An ergonomic symptoms survey checklist can provide information that can focus a laboratory's efforts in preventing work related injuries. As soon as an employee reports pain or MSD symptoms, the supervisor should talk with and listen to the employee. They will tell you how they are dealing with the problem and if they have seen a doctor. The employer should encourage the employee to see a company doctor. Consult the full issue of Lab Safety Advisor to see a sample list.
