Pennsylvania ALF loses track of residents
LTC Liability Monitor, July 7, 2005
At the New Seasons Assisted Living Community at Hill House in Bensalem, PA, six residents have wandered away from the facility undetected since 1998, according to a CBS report in Philadelphia.
The most recent incident concerned 81-year-old Betty Trainer, a resident with dementia, who went missing from New Seasons on June 26. She was found dead the following day near a local cemetery. Leonard Collier, a senior citizen counselor for assisted living communities in Bucks County, PA, told CBS it was unusual for that to happen one time, let alone six times. New Seasons now operates under a provisional license, CBS said, in part for "failing to properly supervise patients."
