NJ man charged in hospital room assault on girlfriend
Healthcare Security Weekly, June 6, 2005
A New Jersey man is charged with assault after police say he barged into a hospital room and hit his girlfriend in the face, reports the Daily Journal in Vineland, NJ.
The girlfriend, who was tending to her newborn in the maternity section of South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland, was speaking on the phone when the irate boyfriend stormed in and demanded to know who she was speaking to, say police. The boyfriend snatched the phone out of her hand and assaulted her.
Police apprehended the boyfriend when hospital security cameras spotted him fleeing the facility. It is unclear whether he is the father of the child.
