Infection control leaders to discuss avian flu, SARS at San Francisco conference
Infection Control Monitor, June 3, 2005
Recognizing the immediate need to examine the fast spread of diseases such as SARS and avian flu, the world's leading infection control experts will join forces in September at the international conference, "Think Globally, Act Locally: An International Conference on Infections that Have No Boundaries" in San Francisco.
The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Joint Commission Resources, and Joint Commission International are the driving forces behind the conference, which aims to define infection control solutions, such as early alert systems for outbreaks, and the proper use of antimicrobial agents for washing hands and controlling the spread of germs.
Healthcare professionals who sign up for the conference will learn how they can work together to protect workers, patients, and the public.
